Well, my experience is that this works for some people but of course not everyone. There will always be significant events, both good and bad, that can get in the way of ''a better life', related to, for example, health, finance, work, children and all manner of matters encountered in the third age. For me and for many people I speak to, a key factor appears to be the benefit of not having to feed one's ego. The need to prove yourself diminishes with age. My motto.......I am who I am and I am what I am.......take it or leave it!
